What to Bring

Oncology Massage Module 1

For an OM1, we need a massage table for every 2 students. In the first instance, we assume you are bringing a table - so, if you are not, please notify your Course Facilitator so we know how many tables will be available.

Every student should bring appropriate Manchester. This should include enough linen to cover the table and accessories, linen to cover the recipients of your massage, and pillows and bolsters for additional comfort. Our requirement is as follows:

  • 2 x pillows with 2 x covers, OR 1 x pillow with 1 x covers and 1 x bolster with 1 x covers
  • Face hole pad and 3 x protectors
  • 1 x table cover
  • 1 x single sheet
  • 2 x large towels or bath sheets
  • 2 x hand towels
  • 1 x light single blanket
  • Melrose Sweet Almond Oil (or another brand of almond oil)
  • Pens, notepads
  • Masks for pracs
  • Cleaning wipes 
  • The mandatory pre-course paperwork
    • Print pp 5-7 of the Pre-Reading (OML Student Disclaimer Policy), read the policy, sign Attachment A and Attachment B
    • Read pp 8-9 of the Pre-Reading (National Hand Hygiene Initiative), complete the online learning module, and print your certificate

 

Oncology Massage Module 2

For an OM2, we need a massage table for every student. If you are not able to bring a massage table, please advise your Course Facilitator immediately.

Every student should bring appropriate Manchester - two separate amounts of linen: one full set for the student practical sessions and one full clean set of manchester for the Client Practical exam. This should include enough linen to cover the table and accessories, linen to cover your massage practicals, and pillows and bolsters for additional comfort. Our suggestion is as follows:

  • 2 x pillows with 4 x covers, OR 1 x pillow with 2 x covers and 1 x bolster with 2 x covers
  • Face hole pad and 4 x protectors
  • 2 x single sheets
  • 4 x large towels or bath sheets
  • 4 x hand towels
  • 1 x light single blanket.

​​Mini Tutorials

For a Mini Tute, we need a massage table for every 2 students. In the first instance, we assume you are bringing a table - so, if you are not, please notify your Course Facilitator immediately so we know how many tables will be available.

Every student should bring appropriate Manchester. This should include enough linen to set up the table, cover accessories and the person they are working on.  We suggest two pillows (can be substituted with bolsters), linen for how you would normally set the table up and two large towels to cover your client.
